Elections and Artificial Intelligence Tools
In the dynamic realm of politics, understanding the public’s heartbeat is crucial, and there’s no better place to gauge this than on social media. It’s where constituents voice their honest opinions on political parties, policies, security issues and opposition, often more openly than in traditional polling. NESSACTION and partners are currently tapping into this vibrant source of real-time feedback, offering extant data, an unparalleled opportunity to monitor, analyze, and respond to public sentiments in view of peace and security challenges.
Starting shortly! This new show empowers young women in every sphere of influence to rise and take charge! Enjoy every episode from seasoned women leaders in civil society, politics, business, movement and labor.

NESSACTION, with support and funding from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), developed a mentorship guide called ‘Leadership Empowerment and Development for Women (LEDW)’ filled with essential leadership and civic engagement skills. This comprehensive book covers leadership concepts, civic participation, effective communication, advocacy, conflict resolution, networking, digital literacy, political manifesto building, mentorship and personal development. By addressing these areas, the guide prepares young leaders to address complex societal challenges.
The guide begins with an introduction to leadership and civic engagement, emphasizing the role of youth in governance and community initiatives. Effective communication and public speaking skills are covered, enabling young leaders to articulate their visions and inspire action. Advocacy and campaign management provide tools for planning and executing successful campaigns, mobilizing support, and driving social change. Digital literacy and social media advocacy prepare young leaders to utilize digital tools for advocacy and manage their online presence effectively. Political manifesto building provides guidance for developing and promoting a compelling political platform. Mentorship and personal development focus on the benefits and responsibilities of mentorship, setting personal and professional goals, and strategies for continuous learning and self-improvement. This chapter emphasizes the importance of ongoing development and the role of mentors in guiding young leaders.
LEDW empowers young leaders with the skills and knowledge to lead effectively and drive positive change in their communities.

It takes a concerted effort from all seasoned women leaders in civil society, public office, politics, business, movements and labor to increase women participation in leadership. NESSACTION was proud to be at the forefront of this movement for women participation in civic and political leadership and has made over 1,000 young women in Universities in Lagos gain insight into civic and political leadership on our Strengthening Women’s Civic and Political Leadership project. The proposed passage of the special seats for women bill before the National Assembly will provide a great opportunity for women participation in politics and we look forward to working with women in politics in the next few months to strengthen systems and structures at the local government level.
